LEGO Engineering Simple Machines Grades K-1

This hands on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Lego class is designed to introduce younger students
to basic science and engineering concepts. Students will build with LEGO's fun and simple models that are crazy action contraptions and simple machines. By playing with and manipulating the models, they experience pulleys, levers, gears, and wheels and axles, while exploring energy, buoyancy, & balance. If your child attended the fall Lego camp all the builds will be new.
Epic Engineering Disasters

From collapsing buildings like the Fidenae stadium and bridges like the Tay Bridge Tacoma Narrows Bridge, to sinking ships like the Titanic — this camp is all about epic engineering disasters! Campers will build structures and discover what went wrong and design and test solutions! Some of the disasters covered in this camp include the Colossus of Rhodes, Exxon oil spill, city group skyscraper, Titanic, and the wings of Icarus. This camp is a lot of hands on fun!
Think Like an Engineer
In this camp, students will delve into the fascinating world of engineering! Throughout the week, they will explore four types of engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, and Aerospace.
Through a range of projects, including designing and building houses, roller coasters, heat spinners, gliders, bridges, eco-friendly vehicles, launching devices, and cranes, the kids will learn about basic engineering principles and practice their creative problem-solving skills.
**Each full-day camper must bring a lunch, 2 snacks, and a water bottle.**
**Each half-day camper must bring 1 snack and a water bottle.**
ArcKIDtecture super structures - Full Day

Love building and designing super structures? Young architects will test materials, meet design constraints, and dream up amazing structures using a variety of different materials including LEGO bricks. Learn about Greek, Roman and Gothic architecture, by designing a temples, bridges, arches, pediments, "stained glass" widows and more. Kid's will participate in design challenges like earthquake proof building, build structures from around the world and create a LEGO structures that includes architectural design elements.
**Each full day camper must bring their own lunch , 2 snacks, and a water bottle. **
**Each half day camper must bring 1 snacks, and a water bottle. **
Thankful for STEAM challenges
Come blow off some STEAM this thanksgiving break with some fun hands-on/minds-on challenges!
To celebrate Thanksgiving we have put together our favourite STEAM activities and challenges for November. Using simple materials, students work in partners or groups against criteria & constraints lists to design and build solutions to Thanksgiving challenge problems. Every challenge includes modifications for grades K-8.
School closing (one full day)
Bricks Bots Beakers classes provide an engaging and challenging environment that encourages students from Kindergarten to 6th grade to hone their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through a variety of theme-based STEAM activities and challenges, students have the opportunity to brainstorm ideas, create prototypes, test their designs, make predictions, record results, and draw meaningful conclusions. Our approach is not only fun and exciting, but also highly educational, and it prepares children to be more innovative and creative in their thinking.
Spring Break Camp
Bricks Bots Beakers classes get kids (K-6 grades) truly thinking and problem solving. Kids participate in various theme based STEAM activities and challenges.
This mixed aged camp is filled with hi-intensity, interdisciplinary projects and other standards-based learning activities that integrate inquiry-based learning, creative expression and problem solving, technology and engineering processes.
Winter Break

This holiday season, take a break from the gadgets and gifts and get down to our STEAM Lab for some hands-on chemistry, engineering challenges, animal science, and LEGOs!
This mixed aged camp is filled with hi-intensity, interdisciplinary projects and other standards-based learning activities that integrate inquiry-based learning, creative expression and problem solving, technology and engineering processes. We will have different themes each day with fun, engaging activites!
STEAM Explorers Club

Learning by doing, children will gain confidence as they learn and develop skills critical for success in Kindergarten and beyond! Our unique curriculum means kids are never bored as they experience a wide variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities on a rotating basis.
Each month a new unit will be taught, in one of the three focus areas:
BRICKS - learn and apply the Engineering Design Process through building, engineering, testing, and improving, using LEGO and Duplo bricks and other materials.
BOTS introduces robotics vocabulary and age-appropriate programming with hands-on robot building!
BEAKERS science labs for little kids. Safe, age-appropriate science exploration teaches: making predictions, observation skills, recording results and making conclusions.
STEAM Innovators Lab

Through engaging, hands-on learning, children will build confidence and develop essential skills for success in school and beyond. Our unique curriculum keeps kids excited and challenged as they explore a diverse range of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities on a rotating basis.
Each session is divided into three blocks, featuring our three focus areas:
• BRICKS: Master the Engineering Design Process by building, engineering, testing, and improving projects using LEGO bricks, advanced construction kits, and other materials.
• BOTS: Dive into the world of robotics with age-appropriate programming and hands-on robot building, while learning key robotics concepts and vocabulary.
