Have you always wanted to attend Hogwarts, discover wand lore, brew fantastical potions? Then this camp is for you! Experience a week-long journey filled with magic as you create wands, duel witches and wizards, compete for the coveted "house cup,” brew various potions such as glow in the dark slime to amortentia, design and build broomsticks, unlock the secret recipe for butterbeer, code a wand, and other crafts. We anxiously await your owl to discover the magic of chemistry!

Fairy Tale Engineering

Using LEGO® Duplo bricks and other materials to apply Engineering Design Process to build and test Rapunzel’s tower, the 3 Little Pigs Houses, a Bridge for the 3 Billy Goats Gruff, a balancing Beanstalk for Jack and more!  Stories, games, songs and more add to the fun in this creative camp.

Elementary Entomology BUGS

This summer, let the kids go buggy so you don’t! Observe and learn about live bugs including; ladybugs, ants and crickets. Other awesome insect science facts include; life cycles, camouflage and mimicry, amazing insects and more!  Campers will conduct experiments to learn what foods ants like best and what colors attract the most insects. Fun insect themed games, songs and arts and crafts make this camp a buggy blast!

 

Super Hero STEAM

Calling all Superheroes and Wonder Women! In this Super Science & Engineering camp you’ll put your skills to the test as you create superhero projects, play superhero games, design and build superhero helmets, catapults, and participate in science activities such as: Glow in the Dark Kryptonite, Galaxy Slime, Hulk Hands Smash, and an Evil Villain Mad Scientist Lab.

 

Minecraft STEAM Mania

Calling all Minecraft fans to this one-of-a kind camp that is the perfect blend of Minecraft-themed STEAM activities. Campers will rotate through four fun and engaging stations each day with activities that include building with LEGO Minecraft sets, Minecraft themed science experiments and engineering builds, Minecraft-themed art, stop motion movies, and of course time to play

Campers may bring their own tablet that has been loaded with Minecraft. Tablet must be in a protective case and labled with camper's name.

Frozen STEAM

This is the coolest camp around! Hands-on STEM activities with fun themes inspired by the movie Frozen! Learn about absorption and dissolution by building ice towers, Explore states of matter including solid, liquid and gas, forces by building and testing a "snowball launcher", Build a sled and learn to create a code to help Princess Elsa skate. More “icy cold” STEM challenges and arts and crafts fill out this week!

Bots Early Robotics
 

This camp is the perfect for way to introduce younger kids to the wonderful world of robotics and challenge the older campers! Our program, which is based on the four key principles of problem solving, hands-on STEM, the algorithmic approach, and learning through action, gives kids the chance to work in a super hands on and fun environment. Campers will work together to learn the fundamental properties of machanical engineering, programming, sensors, and gears while having fun!

Kids will learn to program various robots such as Evo Bot, Wonder Bot, LEGO® WeDo Bots, Ozobots, Tale bots, snapcircuits, and more.  This camp also includes fun robotic themed games and crafts.

LEGO Engineering

 

 

This LEGO® class gives students a fundamental understanding of STEM concepts. Students will build awesome working models to investigate the principles of simple machines, mechanisms, and structures; experiment with balanced and unbalanced forces and friction; measure distance, time, speed, and weight; and much more.

Travel back more than 65 million years and check out some of the most amazing creatures to walk the face of the Earth: dinosaurs! In this camp, kids will use their paleontology skills to discover what these prehistoric animals looked like, how they behaved, and more! This camp includes activities such as fossil making, a coprolite study, dinosaur eggs, predator vs. prey, and other fun art projects, experiments, and games!

Star Science- Episode I

Star Wars fans & future astronauts will love this out-of-the-world camp! Explore the mysteries of space and learn about our solar system and space travel. Create moon rocks, Yoda's bubbling slime swamp, chemical powered rockets, beautiful artwork, solar system bracelets, design and build a solar oven, design, build and test their own air-powered flyers modeled after their favorite star fighter.

Zany Zoology

Are you ready for an adventure into the animal kingdom? From majestic mammals to soaring birds to awesome reptiles — it's an animal lover's dream! Join us to learn animal facts about habitats, behavior, appetite, and most importantly, the threats many of these amazing animals face today. Through hands-on activities, simulations, models, and experiments, our classroom will be transformed into a zoology lab. This is where fun meets furry!

LEGO Engineering Simple Machines Grades K-1
This hands on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Lego class is designed to introduce younger students
to basic science and engineering concepts. Students will build with  LEGO's fun and simple models that are crazy action contraptions and simple machines. By playing with and manipulating the models, they experience pulleys,levers, gears, and wheels and axles, while exploring energy, buoyancy, & balance. If your child attended the fall Lego camp all the builds will be new.
Future Veterinarian

  

This is THE camp for animal lovers and future veterinarians! Campers will "adopt" a stuffed animal to perform mock exams, surgeries, and other procedures, and the stuffed animal is theirs to keep! Camp topics include the veterinarian’s office, basic animal anatomy and physiology, pet care and nutrition, first aid and emergencies, diagnosing common illnesses and injuries, treatment plans, solving “medical mysteries”, and getting into vet school. No living animals will be included in this camp.

Science Detectives!
 

Ready for a mystery? How about a SCIENTIFIC mystery? We’re on the case with kid science detectives Fossey and Doyle from Michelle Torrey’s The Case of the Gasping Garbage. Set up your science lab and work with your partner to perform experiments and crack the case. On the last day of class you’ll put your detective skills and science knowledge to the test to solve an escape room mystery!

Future Doctor Gross Anatomy

Thinking about becoming a doctor one day? If so, this camp is for you! Hands-on activities cover amazing features of the human body such as: circulatory, respiratory, skeletal, integumentary, and nervous systems. Kids will build various working models of eyes, lungs, heart, robotic hands, etc. Your lab coat and stethoscope is yours to keep!

Gizmos, Gears, and Gadgets

In this LEGO® class, students will learn about simple machines including gears, gear ratios, levers, wheel & axles, potential and kinetic energy, and force. Use the new Klutz Gadgets kit to innovate and improve your contraptions! The best part is, they get to take this awesome LEGO® kit home on the last day of class!!!

Epic Engineering Disasters

From collapsing buildings like the Fidenae stadium and bridges like the Tay Bridge Tacoma Narrows Bridge, to sinking ships like the Titanic — this camp is all about epic engineering disasters! Campers will build structures and discover what went wrong and design and test solutions! Some of the disasters covered in this camp include the Colossus of Rhodes, Exxon oil spill, city group skyscraper, Titanic, and the wings of Icarus. This camp is a lot of hands on fun!

Think Like an Engineer

In this camp, students will delve into the fascinating world of engineering! Throughout the week, they will explore four types of engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, and Aerospace.

Through a range of projects, including designing and building houses, roller coasters, heat spinners, gliders, bridges, eco-friendly vehicles, launching devices, and cranes, the kids will learn about basic engineering principles and practice their creative problem-solving skills.

Epic Engineering Disasters - Full Day

Campers will explore historical engineering disasters, from collapsing buildings like the Fidenae stadium and bridges like the Tay Bridge Tacoma Narrows Bridge, to sinking ships like the Titanic.  They will build various structures discover what went wrong and design and test solutions! 

Some of the disaster covered in this camp are: Colossus of Rhodes, Fidenae stadium, tower of Pisa, Tacoma bridge, Exxon oil spill, city group skyscraper, Titanic, wigs of Icarus.

ArcKIDtecture super structures - Full Day

Love building and designing super structures? Young architects will test materials, meet design constraints, and dream up amazing structures using a variety of different materials including LEGO bricks. Learn about Greek, Roman and Gothic architecture, by designing a temples, bridges, arches, pediments, "stained glass" widows and more. Kid's will participate in design challenges like earthquake proof building, build structures from around the world and create a LEGO structures that includes architectural design elements.

Thankful for STEAM challenges

Come blow off some STEAM this thanksgiving break with some fun hands-on/minds-on challenges!

To celebrate Thanksgiving we have put together our favourite STEAM activities and challenges for November. Using simple materials, students work in partners or groups against criteria & constraints lists to design and build solutions to Thanksgiving challenge problems. Every challenge includes modifications for grades K-8. 

School closing (one full day)

Bricks Bots Beakers classes provide an engaging and challenging environment that encourages students from Kindergarten to 6th grade to hone their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through a variety of theme-based STEAM activities and challenges, students have the opportunity to brainstorm ideas, create prototypes, test their designs, make predictions, record results, and draw meaningful conclusions. Our approach is not only fun and exciting, but also highly educational, and it prepares children to be more innovative and creative in their thinking.

Over the course of the week you’ll get to construct everything from your own Greek-style column to a LEGO Architecture structure, from an earthquake-proof building to a super cool straw roller coaster and so much more. You’re in for the ride of your life, so put on your design thinking hat and get ready to build!

STEAM Explorers Club

 Learning by doing, children will gain confidence as they learn and develop skills critical for success in Kindergarten and beyond!  Our unique curriculum means kids are never bored as they experience a wide variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities on a rotating basis. 

Each month a new unit will be taught, in one of the three focus areas: 

BRICKS - learn and apply the Engineering Design Process through building, engineering, testing, and improving, using LEGO and Duplo bricks and other materials.  

BOTS introduces robotics vocabulary and age-appropriate programming with hands-on robot building!

BEAKERS science labs for little kids. Safe, age-appropriate science exploration teaches: making predictions,  observation skills, recording results and making conclusions.

STEAM Innovators Lab

Through engaging, hands-on learning, children will build confidence and develop essential skills for success in school and beyond. Our unique curriculum keeps kids excited and challenged as they explore a diverse range of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities on a rotating basis.

Each session is divided into three blocks, featuring our three focus areas:


• BRICKS: Master the Engineering Design Process by building, engineering, testing, and improving projects using LEGO bricks, advanced construction kits, and other materials.


• BOTS: Dive into the world of robotics with age-appropriate programming and hands-on robot building, while learning key robotics concepts and vocabulary.


• BEAKERS: Conduct safe and exciting science experiments that teach kids to make predictions, observe phenomena, record data, and draw scientific conclusions.

Early Robotics Class

This class is the perfect way to spark your child’s imagination and introduce them to the exciting world of robotics and programming! Grounded in four powerful principles—problem solving, hands-on STEM learning, the algorithmic approach, and learning through action—our program offers a dynamic, collaborative environment where kids explore, and create.

Throughout the class, students will work together to build foundational programming skills while having a blast. They’ll get hands-on experience programming a variety of robots including Evo Bots, LEGO® WeDo, Ozobots, Tale-Bots, Snap Circuits®, Edison Robots, and more.

To keep the fun rolling, we also include robotics-themed games and creative crafts that reinforce learning while sparking joy.

Battle Bots! Class (NEW)

Are you ready to step into the exciting world of BattleBots? Join our B3 Robotics Camp powered by Team Witch Doctor—a legendary team from the hit TV show—to build your very own combat robot !

 

This hands-on, beginner-friendly class is perfect for young engineers, tinkerers, and robot fans. Learn the math, science, and engineering behind robot combat while building a lifter, hammer, or grabber robot that you can competing with!

This week-long camp will combine historical and mythological context with hands-on STEAM activities as we learn all about the Norse and Viking influence on the series as well as explore everything there is to know about dragons. Activities will range from the physics behind catapults to the engineering of Viking ships to the life cycles of dragons and the reptiles they’re based on and so much more!
