Toddler jamboree 1 & 2 yrs. (10mos- 2yrs)

Stage 1: Toddler Jamboree (Ages 1 & 2's)

Movement is the heart of Stage 1! Toddlers explore rhythm and sound while developing motor skills through instruments such as tambourines, bells, and a wide variety of wooden percussion instruments, including lollipop drums. Props like balls, bubbles, scarves, bean bags, soft blocks, and canopies inspire imaginative play while building both fine and gross motor coordination.

While we continue familiar bouncing rhymes and chants, “songtime” is introduced as children begin to sing along to their favorite tunes. As the year progresses, rhythmic sounds, movement games, and carefully chosen instruments help toddlers learn to walk, play, and sing with confidence. The curriculum grows right alongside your child, preparing them for the next stage of musical discovery.

Preschool jamboree 3& 4 year olds)

(Ages 4 & 5 yr olds)Imaginary play is one of our favorite ways to help preschoolers broaden their musical horizons as they begin to discover the joy of playing and singing together in an ensemble. Children are introduced to our full range of instruments—including our beautiful Orff instruments such as glockenspiels and resonator bells—and begin orchestrating familiar songs with more than one instrument.

They’ll delight in learning how to be a conductor, acting out songs, exploring simple dances, and experimenting with solo singing, echo singing, and group singing to develop strong pitch and vocal skills. We also introduce the use of musical notes and music vocabulary in fun, age-appropriate ways. Puppets, props, and creative movement continue to enrich their experience, while exposure to classical, folk, and world music expands their cultural awareness.

This is a child-only class,  Parents stay outside, and last 5 minutes we will bring you into class for an activity

Kids jamboree 2 -4 yr olds

Stage 2: I can do it myself - Independence Day is here! This is a wonderful age for making music, as children are eager to participate in independent activities while learning to observe and follow the example of the teacher. The children now have a choice of being with their grownup or sitting as a group with their teacher. Echo singing and call and response are encouraged to develop language, listening, and pitch matching skills. Children learn the rhythmic differences between walk, run, tippy-toe, gallop, and march. Using our many varied instruments, children learn how to make "soft" and "loud" sounds, and when to play "fast" or "slow". Circle dances, creative movement, puppets, felt board activities, and songbooks provide a creative dimension to their music-making experience. By the end of the year, children will be playing the full range of our vast instrument collection - drums, shakers, metals, woods, tambourines, and resonator bells. All are designed to allow the children to accompany themselves while they sing and to fully express themselves rhythmically. They will start to play together as a group and learn to accompany themselves on various instruments. At the end of the year, to everyone's delight, they will be encouraged to entertain us with a solo!
