My name is pronounced [tSah-ri-nah]. I've always found interest in learning more about the sounds and emotions we can make with our voices to communicate in many languages and musical styles.

I have had a wonderful experience teaching students of all ages for the past 16 years and have realized how each student's musical knowledge largely impacts their development as they choose their vocational path. My experience in teaching group/individual vocal and piano lessons, a large high school program, and a K-6 setting have motivated me to encourage students to develop their physical and vocal comfort, teaching them how to use their time efficiently to prepare for important deadlines, and guiding them to appreciate the culture behind any art form.

Education and Musical Employment that inspired COMPASSion Music Studio:

​

After completing my graduate work, I moved to my hometown of El Paso, Texas and became a high school choir director with El Paso Independent School District. I then, relocated to Boston for a job opening at Community Music Center of Boston (CMCB) as a Youth Chorus Director, Early Childhood voice and piano instructor, and a Teaching Artist for the Boston Public Schools. These positions gave me the opportunity to collaborate with many departments, but I most cherished the Music Therapy department. Inspired by Berklee's ABLE assembly workshops on the importance of music in our daily lives, I changed my teaching focus to adopt various teaching methods that access many more learning styles into my individual and group lessons. This provides the opportunity to work with families & students with a variety of abilities, and has allowed me to continue educating myself as I learn from my own students' learning styles. Music Together^®'s curriculum aligns fully with my teaching principles and I take a lot of pride in bringing these Family classes to the community of Pearland!
