Cooking for the Family
A 5-Week Hands-On Culinary Series for Adults and Families
La Soupe is proud to offer Cooking for the Family, a 5-week hands-on cooking program developed by Jamie Stoneham of FarmChef Services. This series is designed to help adults (ages 16 and up) gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to cook healthy, affordable meals for themselves and their families. The goal: to prevent or reduce chronic health issues like diabetes, obesity, and other diet-related conditions—one meal at a time.
Throughout the program, participants will:
Learn 8 essential cooking skills and techniques
Cook full, culturally diverse meals using fresh, nutritious ingredients
Gain practical tips for shopping smart and eating well on a budget
Take home a recipe binder with nutrition tips and budget-friendly guides
Receive a graduation culinary tool kit
Build community through shared cooking and conversation
Each meal made in class is designed to feed a family of four for under $12. The series ends with a special graduation meal, where participants can invite a child (6+) or guest to cook and celebrate together using their new skills.
This program is offered through private group bookings.
