These multi-week courses provide a foundation for future outdoor learning and exploration, by getting your youngest explorers outside through all four seasons to explore the natural world near their home. Each week, we explore a new topic relating to the current season while building off of the topics learned in previous weeks. Activities include a combination of hands-on exploration, games, songs, stories, and a craft. Classes are held at a local park or reservation in your community, giving you the chance to explore many natural spaces and habitats near your home.

Our Afterschool Programs offer a great way to get your kiddos outside and exploring through all four seasons after a day at their desks! With offerings several days of the week in locations all across Greater Boston, we'll never run out of things to explore!

Ages 4-9
 

Offered for Drop-Off Programs in Needham (Eliot School). Offered from 8:20-9:00am, at the start of a camp day Monday - Friday. Preregistration required.

This class will consist of a pre-recorded video stream with one of our fabulous naturalist teachers. The teacher will lead the class through a virtual circle time about one of our favorite nature topics! Open it up for them to ask us questions about the topic. The naturalist will the head outside for an interactive, guided outdoor exploration, where your children will get to follow along and get inspired by what we do and see! After the exploration, the teacher will then read a story based on our nature theme. Every participant will get an activity sheet to go along with the topic, that will give you something to do as a family once work is done!

Get your kiddos outside and exploring during their days off from school! Programs are offered on Indigenous Peoples' Day, Veterans Day, December Vacation, MLK Day, February Vacation, & April Vacation. Each day, we'll explore a different nature-related topic through hands-on exploration, active movement, STEM-related experiments, outdoor play, games, songs, stories, and crafts. We'll be outside and moving as we learn about what nature is doing in that specific season! Programs are held at PUDDLESTOMPERS Nature Center in Newton, which is located at (*but not affiliated with) Temple Beth Avodah.
