Meet Rhonda, our owner and lead teacher. With over three decades of experience in early childhood education and a specialization in early childhood music since 2003, Rhonda has built a successful career rooted in the understanding that children learn best through play. She excels in helping caregivers understand early childhood development from a musical perspective. Her informal teaching style is welcoming and accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

Rhonda has received formal vocal training and has participated in numerous dramatic productions. She has led various children's programs and even entertained as a clown. Additionally, Rhonda has worked as a preschool teacher in early childhood education.

In 2003, Rhonda attended a Music Together Worldwide Teacher Training, a life-changing experience that led her to own and operate South Coast Music Together, an independently licensed center, for 21 years. This journey eventually inspired her to launch her new venture, Backyard Band Jams in 2020.

In March 2006, Rhonda was awarded Music Together Certification Level I for outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy, and parent education. She also received her Certification I from the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, an international organization of professional music educators, in the summer of 2005. Rhonda is a member of The Children's Music Network and has studied Dalcroze Eurythmics at the Longy School of Music.

When she's not teaching, Rhonda enjoys performing, rocking out at local open mics, or spending time with her beloved furry, four-legged companions.
