Wow Lego Engineering classes use Lego Education to enable children to behave as young scientists by providing them with tools and tasks that promote scientific enquiry.  We connect with the children by using a short story about a problem that Sam and Sara have and they have to help find a solution that involves building simple machines that really work!. These activities allow children to investigate design and technology (gears, axles, levers, pulleys, etc) while learning about force, speed, the effects of friction, and much more. The children will then test their models to see if they work, and if not they have to figure out why.  Once they do work they are encouraged to pose ‘What if”…?’ questions and make predictions, then test their models to see if their predictions were correct.
