In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of composition, colour theory, and watercolour techniques while creating an expressive artwork inspired by some of our most iconic native animals.
Through a combination of demonstrations and hands-on practice, you'll explore vibrant techniques, learn how to create atmosphere and movement, and discover how colour can bring personality and life to your subject.
Whether you're painting a curious kookaburra, a sleepy koala, or another Australian favourite, you'll leave with a finished artwork to take home and a range of new skills to continue your watercolour journey.

Meet Your Teacher: Andrew East
Andrew East is an award-winning watercolour artist based in the beautiful coastal region of Port Stephens. Inspired by the natural world around him, he is known for his vibrant paintings of animals, flowers, and landscapes that capture the beauty and character of his subjects.
Working in a bold, impressionistic style, Andrew brings energy, colour, and personality to every piece, creating artworks that feel both expressive and alive. His passion for nature and years of artistic experience make him a knowledgeable and encouraging teacher for artists of all skill levels.
