Policies and Expectations

Studio Policies, Responsibilities & Expectations


  • A one time $35 registration fee is assessed with each new student. 
  • Teachers will treat all students and family members with dignity and respect at all times. 
  • Teachers will be on time and present for all scheduled lessons/classes, barring emergencies, pre-planned vacations, illness, or inclement weather. 
  • If the teacher has to cancel class for any reason, class will be rescheduled.. 



  • Students/Parents/Guardians can cancel attendance for classes/lessons in the studio portal. 
  • Any music lesson cancelled by 11:55pm the day before your scheduled class in the portal will automatically receive a make-up credit.
  • Music lesson make-up credits can be used in the make-up scheduler in the studio portal to choose an open make-up lesson slot and request it at least 1 day prior to the start time.



  • Tuition is based upon the whole semester, payable at once or monthly according to agreement.
  • There is no discount on tuition for missed classes/lessons.
  • Tuition is expected to be received PRIOR to the first day of the month or semester, unless other arrangements have been made. 
  • Tuition MUST be paid in full at the agreed upon time to keep your lesson/class time as scheduled. A $20 late fee will be assessed 2 days after the due date agreed upon. 



  • The Studio is closed for 1-2 weeks at Christmas for Christmas break and for 1-2 weeks after each Showcase. We are closed on Easter and Thanksgiving, and any other holidays observed will be on the Studio Calendar.
  • Closures are listed on Channel 6, Facebook, and our website for inclement weather or emergencies.
  • Tuition is not discounted for vacations and holidays; they are built into the full semester tuition amount.



  • Teacher will recommend lesson/class curriculum. 
  • Student is responsible for purchasing recommended materials unless otherwise stated. 
  • Curriculum needs for each class is posted on our website whenever possible. 

Student, Parent, Guardian, and/or Visitor Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Students are expected to be on time or cancel via the studio portal if for any reason you are unable to keep your scheduled lesson/class, or can contact your teacher directly if you will be late. 
  • Proper behavior and language is expected at ALL times from students and anyone present with the student. 
  • Annual consent must be submitted to the studio once a year and kept current. You will be reminded each year..
  • Students are expected to complete assigned work on time and communicate with your teacher if there is a challenge. 
  • Adult students/parents are expected to notify Malena right away if there are any issues with invoices, charges, discounts agreed upon, or anything else. Please allow us the opportunity to work through any challenges with you.


Privacy Policy
Any private information given to Malena's Music & More for the purpose of lessons or classes is kept confidential and not shared with anyone. Your information will be entered into the studio management system. You have the ability to log into the site and see your information, log your practice, see upcoming appointments, pay tuition, see previous payments, swap lesson times, and much more. 

As an Amazon & Sheet Music Plus Affiliate, we do not collect any information you share with those companies once you click on a link to their site for any purchase, including curriculum. 

We also use cookies to track activity on our websites and learn what is effective. Thank you for allowing us to use that information.


Waiver of Liability
 I agree to hold Malena’s Music Lessons & More, all teachers, and any landlord or building in which I attend lessons harmless and indemnify them against any and all claims and actions arising out of the participation in lessons and/or educational classes, including, without limitation, expenses, judgments, fines, settlements, and other amounts actually and reasonably incurred in connection with any liability, injury, suit, action, loss, or damage arising or resulting from my participation. I also agree to pay for any damages caused by myself or my family while in attendance. I also acknowledge that I have received, read and agree to all terms contained within this handbook. This agreement is in effect for one year from date of signature or electronic agreement.
