Katia is a local dancer here in Houston.  She has over 12 yrs experience in classical and street dance, and is fluent in over 12 different genre's of dance, including Hip Hop, Modern, and Jazz. Katia's specialty is urban and street dance and has performed with several dance companies such as Intertia Dance Company, Riot Squad, and Soundbox Studios, just to name a few.  During her studies at Sam Houston State University, while completing her Bachelor degree, Katia has been afforded the opportunity tour with local dance troups and train under the finest Master dance teachers in the Texas.  We are so blessed to have Katia as one of our dance intructors on the DiTA  A-Team!

Jalon is a well accomplished artist and has performed all over the world with artists such as Ambrose Akinmusire, Stefon Harris, Jason Moran, and have played for several jazz festivals all over the world. Jalon is an alumni of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.  He continued his musical studies at SkidMore College, University of Pacific (Brubeck Jazz Institute) as well as Manhattan School of Music. Jalon is very excited to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation.  We are elated to have him on our A-Team!!!

Brandi grew up doing musical theatre and participated in more than 20 large scale musicals with a local company in her hometown called San Angelo Broadway Academy. In her younger years, she directed and choreographed a state champion musical theatre piece through the Texas Thespian Festival and was highly involved in her choir and speech and debate programs. During her studies at University of Houston, Brandi has been able to write, direct, and perform in shows. After completing her internship the Alley theatre, Brandi currently teaches creative writing in local youth organizations, sings and performs in a local band, while continuing to work ardently on her writing projects. She is thrilled to join the DiTA team to help embolden students through artistic expression.

Tyler Vonique is Dance Director for DiTA and has serves as an Artist Director for several of DiTA's artistic projects.  Tyler is a well rounded dancer/choreographer and has studied under pioneers such as Debbie Allen, Randall Flinn, and Kelly Ann Vitacca,  as well as Houston Ballet , and Ensemble Theater.  Her performance credits are many and have ranged from Houston Ballet’s classical “ The Nutcracker”, to Houston’s own R&B “The Motown Review”. Tyler is an alumni of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Fine Arts at Sam Houston State University.  We are so ecstatic to have Tyler on our A-Team!

Ana Martinez as our Culinary Instructor.  Ana is the proud owner of Nena’s Catering. Food is definitely her art.   She is so looking forward to teaching our young artist the value of great service and great food.

Tyisha believes that writing is a form of healing and also one of the greatest forms of self expression. Her desire is to help students to understand that an educated mind is a powerful tool that will help them overcome any obstacle in life-- and if they work hard, eventually the fruits of their labor will manifest. Tyisha has been teaching English for over nine years. She studied at University of Houston receiving a Bachelors of Art in Public Relations, then a Masters in Educational Administration with a Principal Certification.  So blessed to have Tyisha on the Artistic Team!

Erma Lilly is an Artist at heart with a simple statement, “Challenge your imagination to go beyond what you see with the natural eye”. Her heart has always been into arts and crafts. Erma’s expertise are creative arts and design where blending colors and bringing art to life was a skill from childhood that she continues to perfect. Within 30 years of perfecting her craft as a hobby she has attended QC Design School as an interior redesign student. Her special techniques are handcrafting unique original art pieces, painting, and pencil drawing. Her passion is being creative with innovative ideas and sharing her knowledge with next generation.

Rachael is a well rounded artist, a Singer, an Actress, a Musician, and is no stranger to the stage, performing in well over 10 productions. She continues to perform while currently earning her Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree, with an emphasis in Musical Theater at Texas Christian University.  Rachael has a heart for the youth, and a passion for helping youth discover their artistic expression.

Christene Archie's career in the performing arts arena spans over 30 years. Prior to founding DiTA, she worked professionally as the Music Director, Vocal Director, Music and Arts Director, as well as Music and Technical Director for various community organizations and theater groups. Christene studied technique and theory in college, receiving a Bachelor's Degree from Lamar University. After graduation, she worked for several Fortune 500 companies in various industries, only to find her way back to her true passions: art and service. She is a songwriter, playwright, certified counselor and an educator. DiTA was formed to give young people the opportunity and platform to discover their artistic identity by building both confidence and character through creativity.

We are team with diverse backgrounds, ages, experiences and expertise, but connects us all together,  is our love for art and for children.
