Our Teachers

All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children.

They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Kerry Wheler enjoys connecting with children and families through creative music exploration.  Her passion for early music education began in 2007 when she was first introduced to the Music Together program.  Since then, she has worked with hundreds of children and families to ignite a curiosity for musical learning and support the profound positive impacts that music can have on individuals, groups, and families.  She studied piano performance at Augustana Faculty of the University of Alberta, and taught herself how to sing as an adult after being told as a child she couldn’t sing well.  Her mission as an educator is to empower people with their own voice and their own joyful musical journey.  A resident of the north since 2010, Kerry is active in community-centered organizations such as the Yellowknife Ski Club and the Yellowknife Music Festival.  Her hobbies include cooking, gathering food from the land, paddling with her family, art, and of course, music making!
