B3 Preschool Program

Our background in education and a curriculum grounded in early childhood education theory means Bricks Bots Beakers classes for preschoolers get kids truly thinking and problem solving. BRICKS classes are more than just copying a picture of a simple build. Preschoolers brainstorm, create, test, and redesign age appropriate projects. BOTS classes incorporate age appropriate coding. BEAKERS classes take natural scientists (aka preschool children) and introduces them to: science vocabulary, developing a hypotheses, making predictions, recording results and drawing conclusions. All of this happens in a curiosity driven, collaborative, small group class setting with experienced teachers who scaffold rich learning experiences.

Jr Robotics

Junior Robotics

Join us as we explore the world of coding & robotics! This class will expose our junior learners to all things Robotic! Students will rotate through learning with different types of robots and kits.

Robots include:

  • Lego WeDo & Lego Essentials: where students use Scratch coding to create programs for robots built from Legos
  • Ozobots: bots that are programmed through color coding
  • MouseBots: use problem solving and sequencing to solve puzzles with a robot mouse
  • Edison: Design a Bot for Sumo Wrestling, create a maze for your bot to follow and more
  • Snap Circuits: discover the world of circuitry

Junior Robotics is designed for students aged 5 to 8 who may or may not have experience building with LEGOS and Robotics. In addition to learning coding and engineering concepts, students will also develop their literacy, math and social-emotional skills as they turn concepts into reality. Students learn to follow-instructions when building and programming their autonomous robots. They then get to explore and problem-solve while customizing their robotic designs. This class is designed for emergent readers (children still learning how to read).

Class size in limited to 8 children.

Homeschool Coding & Robotics

Join our Coding & Robotics Club for Homeschoolers!

Students will be exposed to both Coding and Robotics.

Robotics Options include: Spike PRIME Robotics, WeDo Robotics, Edison & Spike Essentials Robotics

Coding Options include: KidsCode (Python) or Scratch

Depending on the age of the students, different options will be available.

This is a multi-age group - ranging from ages 8 to 12

Little Science Thinkers

Little Science Thinkers: Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade
$600 for the year
$25 drop-in

A yearlong course that engages children in hands-on projects related to the world of science. As with all classes, parents are welcome to stay or drop-off. Join us for the year and save, register by semester or register as a Drop-In. Daily routine will include science investigations & experiments, read aloud books, whole group activities and free play. Children will be exposed to differentiated and age appropriate reading, writing, math and science.

Parents of 5-year-olds are REQUIRED to stay during the class.

Parents of 6 and 7 years olds are welcome to stay, but not required to stay.

Depending on enrollment, parents are asked to attend one or two classes per semester. Parents are always welcome to stay and participate.

Feel free to reach out and join anytime!

Fall Semester: Elementary Entomology: Bugs!
10 weeks $220

Let the kids go buggy this fall!  This wonderful, hands-on class features a variety of fun observations and experiments with live bugs including, ants, crickets, and ladybugs.  Simulations, games, songs, crafts and projects add to the fun and learning for your junior entomologist!  Kids will make predictions, record observations, draw conclusions and present results just like real scientists.

Winter Semester: Rainbow STEAM
10 weeks $220

Bring some color to your winter! Learn about the science of rainbows, light and refraction. This class features a ton of fun activities from each of the STEAM subject areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Code a rainbow and experience digital color mixing, make an art bot that can color a rainbow, do experiments with light, explore chemistry and density by creating a liquid rainbow and a walking water rainbow, make a rainbow abacus, explore states of matter by creating melted crayon rainbow art and more.

Spring Semester: Jurrassic Jamboree
10 weeks $220

Junior paleontologists will love this class!  The science of all things dinosaur!  Students will create fossils and coprolites, participate in a dinosaur dig, hatch dinosaur eggs, measure and compare dinosaurs and much much more!. Key concepts covered include; the fossil record, measuring, sequencing and comparing, carnivores vs. herbivores, predator vs. prey, visual discrimination and matching, dinosaurs were reptiles, dinosaurs were oviparous, and that dinosaurs are extinct.

Big Science Thinkers
