Intermediate/Advanced Ukulele: Learning Jazz and Blues

Picking up where we left off from Beginning Ukulele, we will go beyond the basic open chords and learn movable chord shapes. Also, we will dive further into strum techniques and learn more strum and fingerpicking patterns including calypso, gypsy jazz, rhumba, bossa ,tango, and of course, swing!  

This term is all about variety and having more fun while developing your uke skills.  You will learn lots jazzier chords and how to play the blues on the ukulele. Also, some lead licks and riffs and blues improvisation!  So much fun!

Ever seen the classic Steve Martin film, "The Jerk"?  Well, if you have, then you know the song, "Tonight, You Belong To Me".  We will be learning that song in the class(impress your friends at the next party!)

This class is ideal for the uke enthusiast who already know most of the basic(camp) chords and wants to expand their fretboard knowledge.  Also, if playing blues or jazz has been a mystery, this is your chance to study with Tracy Kim, who has been performing jazz, swing, and latin music all over the Portland area for last 20 years.
