Mimes & Silent Film Theater Camp
Storytelling Without Words
Get ready to step into a world where movement tells the story. Mimes & Silent Film Theater Camp is a creative, high energy camp where students learn how to communicate, entertain, and perform using body language, facial expression, and physical storytelling—without saying a word.
Throughout the week, students will explore the art of mime, silent film acting, and physical theater. Campers will learn classic mime techniques, exaggerated expression, and movement based storytelling while studying how early film actors brought stories to life through action alone. Activities will include guided exercises, creative games, and short performance pieces that build confidence and stage presence.
In addition to performance skills, students will develop body awareness, focus, teamwork, and creative problem solving. Campers are encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, and develop their own performance style in a supportive and encouraging environment.
At the end of the week, parents, friends, and family are invited to a special showcase where students will perform silent scenes and mime routines inspired by classic silent films and original ideas.
