Babies not-yet-crawling-fast Workshop
This is a 10-week workshop for parents with babies that haven't learned to crawl fast yet. Babies learn to crawl at different rates and it generally has little bearing on their development so we couldn't put an age on it. Most families age out somehwere between 6-9 months.
No older siblings are allowed in this space. Anyone who shows up with an older child will, unfortunately, be turned away. These spots are highly sought Throughout this multi-week workshop, we teach parents how to interact musically with their babies. Research has shown that this type of interaction has strong benefits for the developing child that will affect their development for years to come. Nannies are welcome. But the benefits of this type of interaction are best when the activities are performed together as a family throughout the week at home. It should be communicated to all caregivers that attend the workshop that this is a hands-on workshop. We are not teaching babies. We are teaching the adults and all adults in attendance are expected to fully participate unless they are attending to the immediate needs of their child.
Rhythm Kids® Ages 4-6 years old
Music Together® Master Class is a program using the Music Together Curriculum but restricted to older children ages 4-6 that have advanced in their musical skill level and are approaching and practicing Basic Music Competence--Marching and singing with accurate rhythm and pitch. Basic Music Competence is something all children have the ability to achieve and is generally mastered at this age if supported by their parents in early-childhood. It is my feeling that children should not begin formal music instruction until they have mastered Basic Music Competence. This class is designed to help them master that skill.

Hosted by our Music Together center but in a different format, each session focuses on familiar seasonal songs and joyful participation. We aim to avoid heavy religious language while acknowledging that some traditional melodies may include light references to Christmas, Hanukkah, or other celebrations. Register for one, two, or all three sessions to fit your schedule, and feel free to request a favorite—if we know it, we’ll include it!
