University of Washington Professor Dr. Patricia Kuhl has been at the important work of studying how the brains of babies get “built” for quite some time. Her research explores the importance of early experiences and how they are strong predictors of future outcomes.

In this conference talk delivered about five years ago, Dr. Kuhl discusses research that her team conducted, documenting how exposing babies to music and musical instruments helped train the infants to pay attention to patterns. Developing the ability to predict what’s going to happen next is a very important life skill, she explained, as it positively impacts things such as social interactions, cognitive development, and the ability to hold (as well as switch) attention when needed.

Registration is open now for our 2023 classes. Sign up and be delighted by your baby’s ability to learn important, fundamental skills through the art and science of music. And have a fun, bonding moment while doing so!
