DOT MANDALA: Big and Little
Jan 12, 2019

I feel it is a gift to spend quality time with your favorite little person so I have designed this workshop for a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle to bring their favorite little to learn the art of painting a dot mandala.   NO artistic experience is needed.  Just bring your desire to have fun and play with paint and dot art tools.

You and your little will be working in tandem to create a very unique piece art.  In this workshop we will go over what a mandala is, tools that can be used for this art and the importance of paint consistency.  We will spend a some time doing individual practice before both of you start on your canvas.

Once we are all ready you and your little will work as a team on the same canvas taking turns working a step by step process that I will guide you through.  The end result will be the beautiful piece of art and the memory you and your little have created.

Enrollment is limited to 6 adults with their little so don’t delay in registering for this one of a kind workshop.
Littles = 10 - 17years old

Altered books are a form of mix media artwork that transforms an unwanted book in its original form into something else through a variety of mixed media and paper crafting techniques.  Once your book has been “gutted” and recreated artfully for your purposes, the possibilities are endless! From collage, sketching, writing, journaling, memory keeping, planning, go where your imagination takes you!

 Interested but want to learn more? Come to a special open house prior to registering for the class to learn more about altered books and journals and the endless possibilities they hold for you to express yourself.   FREE OF CHARGE

ZENTANGLE: Shades of Gray
Jan 19, 2019

Your Zentangle art really comes alive with that final touch of adding “shades of gray”. This class will look into all the paths you can take with your pencil once the tangling is done. Students will learn tangles that have unique shading options and see how simple shading techniques can transform your work. Watch how subtle shading can totally change your finished piece. This class will isolate the shading process and show students how a single graphite pencil has the ability to produce not just one color but many. Students will learn to add tones from the barely there gray to the darkest charcoal and everything in between.
