Beginning Jazz/Hip Hop (Ages 5-7)

Beginner Jazz/Hip Hop is a fun, energetic class that will meet once a week for 30 minutes.  Students will learn the fundamentals of Jazz including vocabulary, and basic progressions as well as fun hip hop choreography.  Students will learn choreography to upbeat music, and begin to learn longer routines. 

Beginning/Junior Tumbling (Ages 5-9)

Beginning Tumbling is a great way for our young students to build strength and flexibility while using some of their endless energy.  This class will meet once a week for 45 minutes.  Acro class will teach the fundamentals of tumbling with the use of floors mats and other props to ensure safety. 

Intermediate Tap (Ages 10-12)

The rhythm and movement of tap, created by the metal taps on the heels and toes of a dancer’s shoes, transforms the dancer into a percussive musician. Tap dance emphasizes the flow of movement by teaching the dancer to find rhythms and beats not only in music but in their own bodies. 

Intermediate Jazz/Hip Hop (Ages 10-12)

Intermediate Jazz/Hip Hop is a fun, energetic class.  Students will learn the fundamentals of Jazz including vocabulary, and basic progressions as well as fun hip hop choreography.  Students will learn choreography to upbeat music, and begin to learn longer routines. 

Intermediate/Teen Acro & Tumbling (Ages 10+)

Acro class teaches students fundamental acrobatic and tumbling moves that are performed on gym mats. This class is strictly floor work and does not perform any gymnastics with bars or beams.
Sample moves include front & back rolls, headstands, backbends, cartwheels, walkovers, back handsprings, etc. Class format will focus on building core strength and flexibility while acquiring valuable skills that can be easily transferred to dance, cheerleading, and gymnastic routines.

Contemporary is a fusion between Modern, Jazz, and Lyrical. Although Contemporary still expresses emotion, its movements can be more abstract. Contemporary has become more popular due to its explosion in the media. This class will expand boundaries in dance, and is very energetic.

Teen Beginner Ballet (11+)

Ballet is a wonderful activity at any age for strengthening the body, increasing flexibility, emotional expression and spending time with friends. Starting as a teen will give you a different experience than if you start young, but it can certainly be as fun and enjoyable.  It's NEVER too late to start dancing!

Adv. Teen Pointe (12+yrs)

Pre-pointe classes are often offered to ballet students who are not yet on pointe to further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to go en pointe. Pre-pointe classes stress correct alignment and correct classical ballet technique. Pre-pointe classes also allow teachers to assess readiness, offering an atmosphere for proper evaluation of important skills.

Adv. Teen Stretch/Conditioning/Tricks (Ages 12+)

Competition Team Workshop is a 5 week session devoted to perfecting technique and learning new tricks to expand a dancer’s vocabulary and
versatility onstage. If you are considering joining the Junior or Senior Competition Team for our 2014-2015 season it is highly recommended that all students take this workshop series.

Teen Hip Hop (12+yrs)

Hip Hop’s stylized urban movement is about personal
style, expression, and re-invention and contains such movements as popping,
locking, and breaking. This high energy, athletic, fast-paced class can be
taught to anyone with a passion to move, so no dance experience is required,
but be prepared to sweat!

Elite Competition Team (Ages 12+ By Audition Only)
 

A great opportunity to see if being on the competition team is a good fit.  We work on technique, choreography, and progressions.

Ballet Summer Intensive (Ages 12+) June 17-28th

Join us for our week long Summer Ballet Intensive.  Every morning you will begin with a Progressing Ballet Technique class, followed by a 1.5 hours technichique class with guest instructors.  We will also do variations, ballet history, and introduce different styles of dance every day.  

Beginning Teen Contemporary

For students who want to learn this popular dance style, but have little prior experience.  The beginning teen ballet class is an excellent class to pair with this class.

Contemporary is a fusion between Modern, Jazz, and Lyrical. Although Contemporary still expresses emotion, its movements can be more abstract. Contemporary has become more popular due to its explosion in the media. This class will expand boundaries in dance, and is very energetic.

Beginner Teen Tap Ages 11+ (0-2 Years Experience)

It’s never too late to start studying dance!   Teenagers who are new to dance will love our beginner teen classes.  In this tap class, we go over the foundation of tap - emphasizing basic movements and musicality.  Great class for students who are looking to improve their skill set for musical theatre!

Teen Contemporary (Ages 12-14)

Acrobatics & Tumbling (Ages 8+)

Learn basic mat tumbling including cartwheels, limbers, walkovers, back handsprings and more!

Premiere Competition Team (Ages 6+ with Audition)

Our Premier Team Requirements:

  • Must be 6 years old by September 1st, 2018

  • Perform at three regional competitions between March-May

  • One Ballet Class/Week

  • One Contemporary/Jazz Class/Week

  • Must attend weekly rehearsals (4 Miss Maximum)

  • Appropriate classroom behavior (dance attire, hair up, listens & applies corrections)

  • Attend our competition team audition on August 12th 2018, 4-6pm - Please email if you have a conflict.  We will find a make-up time for your audition

Premier Competition Team Workshop (Ages 7-9)

Our Premier Competition Team Workshop is for dancers who are between the ages of 7-10 have had minimal competitive experience.  This workshop focuses on expectations for competitive dancers, technique, and team building. 

Excel Competition Team Workshop

Our Excel Competition Team Workshop is for dancers who are between the ages of 11-14 and have had competitive experience.  This workshop focuses on expectations for competitive dancers, technique, and team building. 

Advanced Teen Conditioning + Technique + Tricks

All students participating in the Advanced Teen Contemporary must also take this conditioning class. 

 

This class focuses on Stretching, Technique required for Competition Team, and new tricks!

Excel Competition Team (Ages 8+ with audition)

Artisan Competition Team is designed for dancers to grow technically and competitively while gaining the invaluable lessons of good sportsmanship, friendship, team unity, and a deeper love for dance.
