The human figure is a subject that artists have depicted for centuries, and it is at the core of understanding the concepts of form, force, and movement in drawing. This workshop is a combination of the classical constructive approach to figure drawing with the lightness and dynamism of drawing for 2D animation. Students will apply basic drawing skills to learn various principles and concepts in figure drawing- gesture, blocking, measuring, anatomy, line of action, balance, squash & stretch, volumes, foreshortening, combining 2D & 3D observations- and leave with a systemic approach to analyzing and communicating two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms of the human figure.
