Gouache is an opaque water-based paint that combines the fluid versatility of watercolor with the rich, matte coverage of acrylic. It is not only highly beginner-friendly but also for all level learners because it dries rapidly and can be easily reactivated with water to make corrections. Using the specific techniques, flat wash, wet on wet blending, dry brushing, layering, on the water color paper, sketch book, canvas, and illustration board, still a traditional way to express images but also from graphical and simplified to more illustrative and expressive for portrait, still life, and landscape painting. This lesson makes students learn illustration techniques with Gouache and develops a different and unique way of their own expression.
