Anthony Williams holds a B.A. in Music form Randolph-Macon College and a Masters of Music in Composition from George Mason University. He currently is the director of the Children and Youth Music Program at Williamsburg United Methodist Church for the past year and is an adjunct Professor at Randolph-Macon College.

Tamara Carver graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Economics & Business and from Old Dominion University with an MBA. She received a full scholarship to the Pennsylvania School for the Performing Arts. Ms. Carver attended the Graduate Summer Music Institute at the University of Hartford and earned her Level II certification through ECMMA.

Norma Champion holds a degree in Music Education from Clarion State College, PA and Level III certification through ECMMA.  Her experience includes public school general music and chorus (grades K-12), five years of music instruction at a local preschool, and many years as a private piano teacher.  Ms. Champion sings professionally with the Colonial Singers of Williamsburg.

Kathy Parisi holds a BS degree in Music Management from Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY where she also studied violin.  She maintains a private violin studio and has worked as a solo violinist at Busch Gardens.  Formerly she taught violin at CenterStage Academy for the Performing Arts.  Ms. Parisi earned her Level I certification though ECMMA.

Sue Sechrist earned a Master’s degree in Music Education in her native Germany which included bassoon, piano, percussion and voice.  She was both a primary and substitute bassoonist for several orchestras.  Ms. Sechrist was the Music Director at First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, VA for ten years.  She is an avid singer who has performed in many choral ensembles.

Ginger Barr holds a BS in Biology from The College of William & Mary where she also took music courses and sang with the William & Mary Choir. She has been employed at ECMS since 2006 as a teaching assistant and now as an instructor, having trained with Musikgarten. She currently sings with the Williamsburg United Methodist Church Choir, the Williamsburg Women's Chorus & Choraliers, and Cantori Choral Ensemble.

Will Bennett holds a liberal arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he sang as a member of the University of Notre Dame Glee Club. He holds a Masters Degree in Secondary Education and currently works as an Educational Technology Facilitator for the York County School Division. He plays fife professionally with Williamsburg Field Musik, a colonial music group.

Rebecca Merrick is a music educator with 14 years of choral and classroom teaching experience. A Connecticut native, she holds a BA in Music and a BS in Music Education from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, and a Master of Music Education degree and Kodály certification from the Hartt School of the University of Hartford. She has taught music (K-8) in public and private schools in CT and VA, and has directed children’s choirs in both church and school settings. Ms. Merrick sings professionally with the choir of St. James’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA.

     
  Megan Durbin

Instructor for Keyboard Year 1

Megan Durbin holds a BS in Chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MD from The Ohio State University.  She studied piano performance and music theory while at UNC and attended chamber music workshops as a pianist at UNC and in Switzerland.  She also played bass clarinet in the UNC Wind Ensemble and at the North Carolina Governor’s School.  She continues to enjoy music through her children and their ECMS classes.
