For hundreds of Melbourne families The Rhythm Tree is children and their grownups joyfully sharing songs, chants, movement, and instrument play, both in music class and in their daily lives.

The Rhythm Tree Family Music Classes is Winner of 2013 and finalist in the 2014 What's on 4 Kids International Awards, Best Local Baby and Preschooler Activity 0-5 years in Australia.

The Bubup Womindjeka Family and Children's Centre is The Rhythm Tree's second location. It is one of only a handful of Music Together® schools in Australia and is their national training centre.

A pioneer in early childhood music and movement education, Music Together offers classes for children from birth through kindergarten, in which there is emphasis parental involvement, recognises that all children are musical and have different styles of learning and that a life-long love of music is created when no pressure is placed on very young children to perform - formal music study is a choice for another day.

Bubup Womindjeka means “Welcome Children” in the Indigenous Boon Wurrung language.

Bubup Womindjeka Family and Children's Centre, is a Port Melbourne children's hub and an integrated family and children’s centre providing:

  • Day Care
  • Kindergarten
  • Maternal and child health services
  • new parents groups,
  • and a growing community of young families.

From Bay St: Liardet Street crosses Port Melbourne's Bay Street at the Coles Supermarket and when traveling South West towards turn left along Liardet St.

You can get to Bubup Womindjeka Family and Children’s Centre (BWFCC) via foot, bicycle path, tram, bus or by car.
