Being able to properly and safely cut foods like vegetables, whole chicken, fish, etc. is helpful in preparing meals AND can save you money since foods that are still in their whole form at the store are generally less expensive (i.e., whole chicken vs. chicken breasts, whole cantaloupe or pineapple vs. cut-up fruit, whole garlic vs. minced in jar).
This lesson will teach you basic knife use skills and will practice by cutting different vegetables for Quick Chicken Fajitas and Fresh Salsa (Pico de Gallo).
