In this one-day workshop, you will learn the history of the process, see some examples of how it has been used, and make some prints yourself. Materials will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring anything you'd like to make prints with including leaves, photographic negatives, or anything else. Let your imagination be your guide…

Pack your imagination — we’re traveling through time to explore how artists across history have expressed their worlds! From prehistoric caves to the colorful motion of modern sculpture, students will uncover the stories behind great works of art and bring them to life through hands-on projects. Each week, we’ll experiment with new materials and techniques inspired by artists of the past: painting with natural pigments like early cave artists, designing Roman mosaics, printing waves in the style of Hokusai, painting vibrant still lifes like Van Gogh, and crafting mobiles inspired by Alexander Calder. By the end of our journey, students will have their own mini “timeline of art” — a gallery of works that show how creativity connects us across time.

This camp will introduce younger kids to fabric and fiber processes and techniques, leaving a lot of room for open ended experimentation with materials.
the Art of Collaboration
This five-day camp is designed for students ages 10–15 to explore art as a collaborative, social process. Each day begins with sustained work on a shared, large- scale collaborative painting that evolves over the week. Additional projects emphasize teamwork, negotiation, shared decision-making, and the experience of creating art for public and semi-public spaces within a museum environment. Students will work individually within group structures, learning how their personal ideas contribute to a collective whole. The week culminates in multiple collaborative artworks and installations that reflect both individual identities and group cohesion.

Ceramic Sculpture Basics
This is a crash course in sculpture focused on teaching students how to create basic shapes using clay and how to create small “trompe l'oeil” objects-
a.k.a. Little clay shoes you can use as flower pots. The course is designed to teach students how to apply different properties of form when sculpting with air dry clay: shape, proportions, and surface texture.
Mindful Weaving
In this class we will be weaving on a frame loom! We will begin the class with some basic breathwork to center us before we begin. You will be taught how to warp a loom as well as some weaving techniques to create beautiful personalized pieces with fibers, beads and more. You will then learn how to remove a weaving from a loom and create a wall hanging.

but the result comes out yield fresh, interesting results on its own. This lesson makes students not only for learning one of an illustration technique but also develops advanced and unique way of expression.
Solargraphs
Get a new view on the world with solargraphy, one of the slowest forms of analog photography!
Solargraphs are long-exposure pinhole photographs that reveal not only the landscape, but also the passage of the sun across the sky. Familiar places look otherworldly, time is stretched, space transformed. No experience necessary, all materials provided. Join us for a two-part workshop, make your own cameras, and discover!
Chado Tea Bowl Workshop
This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the basics of Chadō, the Japanese tea ceremony, exploring its history, philosophy, and key etiquette. We’ll begin with a "hataraki” - an adaptation of a tea ceremony that highlights the values of mindfulness, harmony, respect, and simplicity at the heart of the practice. (The tea experience will be "ryurei" (table-syle) rather than using an authentic tea space on tamami mats).
After the tea ceremony introduction, participants will transition into a clay session, creating their own tea bowls using the pinch pot method. This approachable hand-building technique emphasizes touch, intention, and the beauty of subtle imperfections—echoing the spirit of the tea ceremony itself.
Once the bowls are formed, participants will decorate their work with Porcelain slip, adding surface details and patterns inspired by traditional and contemporary tea ware. Finished pieces will be fired after the workshop and available for pickup at a later date.
No prior experience is necessary; all materials are provided.
The Secret Life of the Letter "V"
Explore the unexpected graphic and narrative characteristics of one single letter form using printmaking and bookarts. We will make one, 8-page accordion handprinted book using a letter of your choice.
Letters are glyphs representing ancient archetypes. In this workshop we explore peculiarities of a single glyph/letter using type, stamps and/or stencils. We will print using water based inks into an accordion book we will first construct for the purpose or printing directly into. Both the book and the print are in the service of expanding the graphic possibilities inherent in the repetition of one single letter form through placement, scale and color.
It’s a little book arts, a little printmaking combined with a 2D design lesson all rolled into one deceptively simple project. By isolating one single letter, the familiar can be seen with a fresh set of eyes giving permission to explore meaning through a narrative structure. We will explore ink rollout, viscosity, application as well as discussing type face, historical context and graphic form. The accordion book lesson addresses paper grain and a fail safe folding technique.
Adaptive Art Lab
Adaptive Art Lab will feature reduced lighting and sound, limited enrollment, predictable session structure, and flexible pacing.
Visual clutter will be minimized, transitions will be clearly communicated, and participants will be free to engage quietly and independently, if preferred. Through an intentionally-designed environment and guided, self-paced instruction, the program aims at providing conditions in which creative engagement is possible, rather than overwhelming, and where participants can engage alongside peers in a supportive, non-judgmental setting.
Gouache Painting
Gouache is an opaque water-based paint that combines the fluid versatility of watercolor with the rich, matte coverage of acrylic. It is not only highly beginner-friendly but also for all level learners because it dries rapidly and can be easily reactivated with water to make corrections. Using the specific techniques, flat wash, wet on wet blending, dry brushing, layering, on the water color paper, sketch book, canvas, and illustration board, still a traditional way to express images but also from graphical and simplified to more illustrative and expressive for portrait, still life, and landscape painting. This lesson makes students learn illustration techniques with Gouache and develops a different and unique way of their own expression.
